DIONYSUS Experience Negotinska Krajina will bring some new vibes to our events. We are moving east, near the city that has nonetheless but the grapes on its logo. After three hours of wondering, exploring vineyards, and feeling this nature gently touched and nurtured by a human hand, the road will lead you to this red brick winery with such a sophisticated interior. Introducing RAJ and MATALJ wineries, the generous hosts for this Dionysian thrill. Give yourself a full-sensory experience. You know you deserve it. Feel the Dionysus.
THE GODLIKE ADVENTURE CONTINUES.
The ultimate hike & wine experience – DIONYSUS will start on the 7th of October 2023, from Serbia and the charming Matalj winery in the landscape of Negotin. Some things remain the same, such as hiking through the spectacular nature, amazing wine, mouth-watering, local food, good crew, perfect ambiance and all this crowned with music and a festive mood.
This time, catching up with the remains of summer still refusing to give in to autumn, we’ll set the next Dionysus in the landscape of Negotin city. If you have participated in Dionysus Experience before you already know how it goes. We’ll start with a 3 to 4 hours long hiking tour. It is on you what vehicle you will use – foot or bike, walk or run. There is no race it’s just you against stress and a hectic lifestyle.

After the hike, we’ll station in the Matalj winery. Breathe in the freshness of nature and vineyards that surround us. Oh, well of course, breathing in the smell of the wine in your glass too. Even though there will be some bites along the trail, the main dish will be in the winery. We’ll have pulled pork or sausage…mmmm…yumm!
What we suggest at this point after lunch is to lay down on the ground, stretch your back and legs, chill, hands under your head, and absorb the sky’s blue.

Once you’ve rested and wine tasted, we can continue to our matinee part of day. If you haven’t found your God, now you will. The music, the sunset reflecting in your wineglass, people swaying in the godlike rhythm…so sexy.

3 LEVELS: EASY FAMILY WALK, HIKE & BIKE
With this event, we bring in more outdoor activities than before, because Negotinska Krajina provides the space that makes it possible.
This area is characterized by a hilly landscape, and we conduct our activities in the surroundings of the villages of Rajac, Smedovac and Rogljevo and of course – their wine cellars.
APHRODITE 5K
At the beginning of this 5 km long trail, you will visit the village of Rajac with picturesque old houses decorated with unusual details. We continue the journey along an unusual route that will take you to the village vineyards and then to the unique cemetery, which many call the “Serbian Stonehenge”. On the very edge of Rajačke pivnice, 1,540 monuments, up to three meters high, still keep the secrets of some past times. Only after the cemetery do we enter the Rajačkie pivnice made up of traditional stone houses, which are used exclusively for the production and storage of wine. Although it is a village, no one lives in it during the whole year.
In the very center of Rajačke pivnice, there is a refreshment point waiting for you, where we will serve you local wine and guide you to the local cellars that we have selected for you.

Trail description: Easy hiking. Great for any fitness level. Easily accessible trails. Suitable for all skill levels.
ARTEMIS 10K
For those who want a stronger hike, the hike Rogljevo – Smedovac – Rajac will be a real adventure.
After registration, we will transfer the participants of the ARTHEMIS 10K race by bus to the start (10 minutes ride) located in the village of Rogljevo. According to tradition, Rogljevo is one of the oldest settlements in Krajina, and in all its characteristics it resembles the villages in the Istrian hills. Almost at the entrance to Rogljevačke pivnice, there is a well and a meeting place, a place where locals gather for the glory of the village, and travelers can stop and rest.
Smedovac cellars are located at the entrance to the village of Smedovac, on the wine road between Rogljevo and Rajac. In terms of architecture and materials, they are very similar to their neighbors (Rogljevački and Rajački beer halls) and form a unique stylistic whole of beer halls.

Trail description: Medium hiking tour. Good physical condition is required. Easy to moderately accessible trails. Suitable for all skill levels.
ATHENA 40K
A 40 km course for athletes on a bicycle. Go on a trip with your baby-bike and visit Negotinska Krajina in a unique way.
The bicycle path starts from the parking lot and goes around Rajac, Smedovac, Rogljevo and Mokranje.
The path leads past the unique beach on Timok river, which also has a kind of natural “jacuzzi”.

Trail description: Expert cycling. A very good physical condition is required. Mainly paved surfaces. Suitable for all skill levels.
3 WINE CHOICES, GOULASH, LOCAL CHEESE & SO MUCH MORE & VEGAN ALTERNATIVES
After you have completed the active part and returned alive and well, Matalj will once again welcome you with their hands wide open.
Each participant will receive 3 coupons for 3 glasses of wine, and the wine menu includes:

Lunch
On the menu is goulash with macarons with fresh, seasonal salad. For vegans, there is an option with mushrooms instead of meat.
A seating area will be organized within the winery, but feel free to bring a blanket and get cozy on the ground if it suits you. After sports, you can change into your favorite summer wardrobe in the changing rooms that will be installed near the winery.
After lunch, chill, meditate, radiate with positive energy and gather strength for some dancing.

MATALJ WINERY
Before we introduce you to the MATALJ winery, let us just say that before we’ve fallen in love with everything that this winery represent and the landscape that surrounds it, one of us fell in love with Kremen wine. It was love at the first glass. That’s how our story began with Matalj.
Matalj is located near Negotin, a city near the triple border of Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria. What we didn’t know before we’ve reached out to Matalj, and started exploring the region is that Negotin has one very interesting logo. Logo of the city literally has grape as a central element.
Vineyards have seen a lot of history in this region, but time takes its toll, and many of the plantations were neglected and forgotten. It is this century that’s giving hope for rebuilding, nurturing the tradition, and helping the prosperity of the region. New generations didn’t discard the tradition. The craft was passed on, and once again the vineyards are looking as the history is in the making once again.
The family that’s cherishing the tradition through hard work, and dedication, knowledge is the family behind Matalj. Producing wine is very difficult and meticulous work that requires a lot of dedication and patience, yet it is so easy to enjoy a good glass of fine wine.

Today the Winery owns three geographic moves, each characterized by different geological composition serving the purpose of each wine having a unique trait.

Wine has always told stories, and the colorful, personal and romantic history of the founders – Mick and Beka O’Connor – is woven into our wines and the creation of RAJ Winery.
RAJ Winery comes from Eastern Serbia and Negotin Krajina, an area that has been known for centuries as an ideal region for growing grapes and producing wine.
Building on the specific wine culture characteristic of this region, the RAJ Winery focuses on the varieties that traditionally grow well in this region, primarily Black Tamjanika, White Tamjanika and Game.

PARKING
Parking will be provided for participants within RAJ and MATALJ wineries.
HIKING EQUIPMENT
Please bring water with you and dress appropriately for the weather. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen in the sun and a waterproof jacket. All participants should have hiking or running shoes.
WARDROBE AND CHANGING
A cloakroom and separate changing rooms for men and women are available at the start at RAJ winery. They will be open from the beginning to the end of the Track part of the event.
ON ARRIVAL
You go directly to the registration desk to collect your welcome pack.

How can I make a group registration?

We offer you a possibility to register your team of 10 and 20 and pay via bank transfer.
How can I use the group discount “4+1 free”?
In the application form, after you have added the first person’s information, click on the “Add registration” button at the bottom and continue adding your group members. After you have added the 5th participant, the system will automatically calculate the discount for the least expensive registration.
Are children allowed?
Yes, young adventurers under 18 years old are more than welcome, but we don’t serve them wine :) Have a look at the Pricing section for the CHILDREN prices
Can I bring dog to the event?
Of course, DIONYSUS loves dogs. We will ask you to put your dogs on a leash during lunch, as it will be served in a picnic atmosphere.
What happens if the weather is bad?
A light rain and wind are not a problem, but heavy rains that last for several days will change the experience a lot. Your hiking experience could turn into mud swimming and we won’t be able to take perfect vineyard Instagram photos. We as organizers have the right to postpone the event for a week later, but we know that half of you will not come. During registration, you as a participant can purchase event insurance which will grant you 80% of the ticket price should you wish to cancel your participation for any reason.
REGISTRATION TRANSFER
If you want to transfer your registration to another participant, please read below and follow the rules.
PARTICIPANT TRANSFER RULES
Transfer to another person is available for individual and group registrations. Once the registration is transferred, the new participant forfeits their eligibility for the right to:
- Participant re-transfer
- Event transfer
- A full or partial refund
- Defer
For participant transfer there will be an extra fee of €10 (+ 5% Registration fee) which will be paid by the new participant, not the participant who originally paid the registration fee. Participant transfer is available until 15 days prior to the start of the event.
TRANSFER PROCESS

WITHDRAWAL
If you want to withdraw your registration, please read below and follow the rules.
WITHDRAWAL FROM THE EVENT
If you need to withdraw from the event, please note that you must submit the request before the deadline.
- Until 45 before the event: 50% refund of the entry fee
- After 45 days before the event: no refund possible
The money will be refunded to the Credit Card used during the registration. If the credit card has expired, please chose the bank transfer refund. Please note that a credit card refund can take up to 3-5 days, and up to 1-2 weeks for the bank transfer.

DEFERRAL
If you want to deferral your registration, please read the rules written below.
DEFERRAL OPTION
Deferrals are only allowed to events in the same event country organization in the next calendar year. Option to defer registration to next year is available for individual registrations and group registrations (only if the entire group will defer). Once deferral has been redeemed, the participant forfeits their eligibility for the right to:
- Participant transfer
- Event transfer
- A full or partial refund
- Re-defer
Deferral option is available until 45 days prior to the start of the event.
DEFERRAL PROCESS

EVENT CANCELATION
Participant will get no refund: if the Event producer defers, changes or cancels the event from cause beyond the control of Event Producer (acts of God and the elements, including without limitation, wind, rough water, rain, hail, hurricane, tornado, earthquake), acts of terrorism, fire, threatened or actual strike, labor difficulty, work stoppage, insurrection, war, public disaster, flood, unavoidable casualty, race course conditions, or any other cause beyond the control of Event Producer).
BY REGISTERING PARTICIPANTS UNDERSTAND AND CONFIRM:

Event Producer reserves the right, in its sole and complete discretion, to deny entry, revoke the entry application of any applicant at any time, and/or to disqualify any individual from the Event. Applicant expressly waives any claim for damages arising from the denial or revocation of an entry application exceeding the amount of the entry fee.
In no event may participant (or anyone else on their behalf) without the prior written consent of Event Producer, SportIT d.o.o., its assignees, or its designees: (a) use any intellectual property of Event Producer, SportIT d.o.o. and/or its affiliates, including, but not limited to, the DIONYSUS marks and names (COLLECTIVELY IPs) and/or any words or marks that refer to, or are suggestive of, or confusingly similar to, the Event, any Event logo, Event name, Event location, Event date, or Event distance (collectively, “Event IP”), or (b) sell, market, distribute, or produce any products, events, merchandise, websites, or services that are Event-branded, or branded or marked using (i) any Event logo, (ii) any Event name, (iii) any Event IP, or (iv) or any IP (including without limitation the word “DIONYSUS” or any foreign translation thereof as a prefix for, or component of, any event, trade name, trademark, organization name, club name, or brand of any kind, in each case in any way related to training, coaching, or any hiking sports).
This Terms of Service are drafted in the English and shall be subject to application of the Serbian law and shall be interpreted in accordance with the provisions of the Serbian law. All disputes arising from this Agreement, including disputes pertaining to the issues of lawful creation, breach or termination of this Agreement, as well as legal consequences arising thereof, shall be instructed to resolve the matter through conciliation in accordance with the Rules of Conciliation of the Serbian Chamber of Economy in force. In case these disputes are not resolved through conciliation within 30 (thirty) days from the day of submitting the motion to initiate conciliation procedure or within a different deadline agreed to by the parties, these disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the Rules of Arbitration of the Permanent Arbitration Court of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. For disputes whose value amounts up to (including) EUR 100.000,00 (in writing: one hundered thousends euro), the number of arbitrators shall be one. For disputes whose value is greater than EUR 1,000,000.00 (in writing: in writing: one hundered thousends euro), the number of arbitrators shall be three. The applicable law shall be the law of the Republic of Serbia.The language of the arbitration proceeding shall be Serbian. The place of arbitration shall be Serbia, the Republic of Serbia.
Participants acknowledge and confirm their liability for compensation for any damage to others’ property and/or material and/or non-material damage caused by injury or death of third persons (including, but not limited to other Event participants, employees/representatives of the Released Parties and similar) that may result from their actions and/or inaction.
